GREENWOOD

 

Parcel #24-12-27-3350-1060-0000, GROVE LOT 106 MB 2 P 30.  From Crescent City go west on CR 308 to Phillip Randolph Street (formerly Lemon Street) turn right and go 1/2 mile.  Cemetery is on right.  This is an abandoned cemetery and needs a lot of cleaning. 

 

We found three marked graves.  Henry Freeman Roberson b.  July 23, 1905 d.  May 19, 1912.  This grave has been fenced with a wrought iron fence and has recently been cleaned.  This grave (fence) lies approximately 275 east of a light pole that appears to be set at the S/W corner of lot 106.  A second grave, Eliza Jane Chamberlin b.  Sept.  27, 1827 d.  June 11, 1899, lies 18 feet east from the N/E corner of Henry Roberson’s fence.  A third grave lies approximately 110 feet N/W of the N/W corner of the Roberson fence.  The headstone lies approximately.  27 feet south west of the base and was lying on the ground partially covered with leaves and debris. 

 

There are several depressions that probably mark other graves.  CRESCENT CITY QUAD.  N 29o 26 775 W 81o 31.452.  (Abandoned.).

THIS GRAVE IS INSIDE IRON FENCED-IN PLOT. THERE ARE 4 SHELLS PLACED AS 4 GRAVES--ALTHOUGH COULD BE HEAD AND FOOT MARKERS FOR 2 GRAVES. ALSO A SHELL IN FRONT OF MARKER.
